Thanks for all of your thoughts and support after losing my Father, It was a long week, but time to move forward. Since he was the one who gave me an appreciation for collector cars, I thought I'd share a couple pics. He sold all these cars about 10 years ago. They aren't the best scans as this was my first venture to, dare I say it?...... KINKO'S! :gt: Anyways, other than the Upholstery, chrome and any engine machine work, my Father did everything himself. Including making parts that were either not available, or simply too expensive. I like to think that if he were restoring a GS today and needed an overflow bottle he would make one! First car... 1937 Jaguar SS100
My favorite! Second one he did.. A 1940 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet. 1 of 350 convertibles built that year. silky smooth V12. If I win the lottery, I am hunting this car down!
And lastly, Oldsmobile's inpsiration for the Toronado. A front wheel drive 1937 Cord Beverly Sedan. Originally a supercharged car, but lost it's Supercharged engine sometime in the 50's.
Dale there is a 39-40 here in austin. man, those are some nice cars. Probably not a V12 but it is a very nice car. Identical to the one you posted. I will see if I can get a pic of it again at the local cruise night.
