As you can tell, I'm new to this site. For a little backround info on my project...I bought my 66 Skylark about 3 years ago for 200 dollars. (what a deal) Got it running in a month to drive it to high school. And blew the engine up 1 week after graduation. It has the 340....anyway now I have started the journey of rebuilding the complete car frame up. Well it was fun taking the car apart but I had lost interest in the car when I bought my truck. Now I'm getting back to the skylark, but find myself lacking the support to get moving on it. Anyway there is my history with the buick so far. Hope I did not bore you to bad. I had just started the body work (the part I hate). I will post some pic's soon. (Probably when I get my campershell off of the front end)

    Later,

    Zak

    350

Welcome aboard, Zak. Here is a good local contact in Phoenix. John Petrusha. Email at MandM_Auto@msn.com
T/A Performance is in Scottsdale too. A Buick 350 and TH350 trans will bolt right into your car. They are cheap and plentiful with many go-faster stuff off the shelf. In fact you could even keep the switch pitch 2 speed trans if you want to. How about a picture or two of your car.

350 hmmmmm.....maybe..... i was thinking of something a little bigger, maybe a bored out 455. I have to finish my other 2 engines first. I'm building a 383 stroker with a supercharger for my 95 sonoma. And I have a 454 block just waiting to be built and droped into a project. But yeah, my 340 is dead. I have started to take it apart to put it back in the skylark, but that part is a long time away.

    No Problem!

455 is a no brainer too. I just got the impression you were looking to get it on the road with a limited amount of cash. Guess the H.S. reference threw me off....that could have been 10 years ago for all I know...which obviously ain't much:grin:

    no problem

No problem. Just to let you know I'm only 20 years old, and have found it quite profitable it the electrical field. I do a lot of side jobs because most people are scared to death of electricity. So they pay a lot to have the stuff done.
