Larry -- NYC and LI are set for a foot or more of the white stuff. It is time to exercise your leverage.

I'm solidly in the red zone. I'm sure I'll be banging the Snovertime clock for several hours on Wednesday night. That last storm two weeks ago I didn't head home until 4am.

Doug — this storm is projected to make a bigger drop for you.

    NORTHERN QUEENS:

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM WEDNESDAY TO 6 AM
    EDT THURSDAY...

    * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 11 to
    15 inches are expected.

    * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut
    and southeast New York.

    * WHEN...From 6 AM Wednesday to 6 AM EDT Thursday.

    * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, especially during the evening commute. Snow will
develop during the morning and become heavy by afternoon. Expect
significant reductions in visibility at times. A combination of
the heavy snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph could bring down
tree limbs and power lines, creating power outages.

    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. Check local Department of
Transportation information services for the latest road
    conditions.

It's gonna take some significant grovelling and major cash flow after the last time they failed to live up to their offer.:D I think I'm gonna let them swing in the coastal wind for awhile before I provide my experienced assistance.

How would you feel about pulling Doug out of a snowbank in N.J.?

Anything for my N.E. bretheren. They get the friends and family discount, 100%. I think it would take more than this itty bitty storm to get Doug stuck in a snowbank.

I thought that was Doug in the princess costume pushing the cop van that was stuck that I saw on the news.:p

Now you know why I moved from Massachusetts to Florida. 70s here today and bright sun.

Two weeks ago, before I left work after plowing for 16 hours, I measured our snowfall total at 23 inches. This one will probably be less than that, but with the wind it'll be drifting. No worries, I keep on going until the job is done. I did, however, get my plow truck stuck in a pile of my own plowed up snow last time, so Jim's not too far off course with his question! My guys pulled me out much quicker than waiting for Larry to make the trip over from the Island, however.

Larry and Doug-- you are needed in Islip. It reports a record 14" of the white stuff. NYC reports maybe 8", also a record for the date.

Im in Islip. The local news predicted between 1" and 17 feet. So they were right on. We got about 12". The only casualty was my apple tree. And today it was 50 so this stuff melted like crazy. I was outside snowblowing with a tee shirt on. This was this morning when I went outside-

Channel 25 predicted 3-6 here in Dracut and as high as 8-12 in southern Mass. We received 1" of snow. All the Boston channel were wrong on this one!
