Im looking for a 91-91 camaro z\28 no firebirds may consider other 89-92 camaros? thanks in advance Louie
Not a real productive bunch of guys for finding that car! You never know. I buy and sell cars, lots of them at times to get together money for a real car. I'm sure there are lots of other guys on here that do the same. I sold a 79 Z28 a few months ago. Plenty of guys that would buy one of those cheap, do a little work, sell them to someone like you and use the money to buy a Buick.
David. my plan is to have the camaro until highschool then park it and have a 70 GS for college. AND DL thanks for the link but texas is pretty far away
If you are even a little patient, and you are selective about what you are willing to buy, and willing to look at half a dozen rigs before you buy one, you should be able to find a pretty fair condition one pretty cheap on craigslist. You don't want one that you are going to have to put money into.
For the same money, buy an old car. The build quality of cars in the 80's and 90's was pathetic. See my user name? 87 GTA. Ran great, squeaked all over.
I would agree to a large extent, but I think he's trying to get something that's 16 year old first car sporty, and on a lower budget. Decent MPG is a bonus too. I would go for the older car, but I understand why he's looking the way he is. For your budget you could be looking at a larger range of cars too. Pre electronic control cars. Mid to late 60's Ford Galaxie, Chevy caprice or impala, probably find a Skylark for the money. 60's and 70's cars are simpler and cheaper to work on. Might just expand your search ideas a little while looking for the right camaro. Sometimes on craigslist I'll just go to cars and start searching by year. 1964 to 1972. If I have the time I sometimes go from the 1920's up to 1972! Found some cool cars that way. Bought a 65 Mercury comet that I wouldn't have thought to look for that way. Doubled my money on the Mercury in no time!
thanks roberta. 4th gen arent what im looking for. im gonna stay with the camaro idea for now. i dont get my permit until next year.
well I think I have my plan set up for the car. Im gonna find a shell i think. (86-92) now for the exspensive part. LTI motor (what am i thinking) o No: if i buy a shell or a 305 project car i will have enough money from working all summer. I know what has to be done in order to install it properly ground effects package w\ 91-92 Z\28 spoiler (if not installed) car is going to have red interior. exterior: an agressive black with red racing stripes. a lot of work for a first car but I am gonna get it done. SO NOW IM OPEN to any 86-92 camaro shell or not.
