This is my current combination. The engine (less the Stage one heads) has about 10,000 miles on it. I am unfamiliar with the terminology and lack the knowledge to set the car up to run the A/C and brakes. I purchased the engine with the parts below and have not run it to date. I want to run high 11s low 12swill this combination accomplish this? I have several other questions I will list below. Please take a look and offer your suggestions.

Comp. Ratio 9.5:1 (Chamber Volume 69.4 ccs)
    Piston Make: Sterling Hypereutectic Aluminum
    (Cast # H-392-NP)
    Clearance: (.0025)

    Camshaft: Custom Ground By Competition Cams 96- 000-5 BB276-3 / 284-3 H12,
Advanced 4 Deg., Actual Advance 2 Deg.,
    .489 Lift Intake and Exhaust
    228 Degrees .050 Intake
    236 Degree .050 Exhaust
    Lobe Separation: 112 Deg.

1970 Stage 1 heads. Ported by GREG GESSLER.
    67CC CHAMBERS.
    INTAKE PEAK FLOW @ 259
    EXHAUST PEAK FLOW @ 194

Kenny Bell Headers and Intake (wildcat)
    Headers and Intake Port matched

    Ford 9
    31 Spline Forged Axles
    3.50:1 Gear Ratio

Turbo Hydromantic 400 3 Speed (Short Shaft)
    Stall Converter 2000 RPM.

    Carb. 850

    Exhaust: 2 with cross pipe.

    1. The engine has sat idle for several years (I have turned the crank several times) What
Do I need to do to insure it is correct before I start it?

    2. Will I need adj. pushrods with the Stage one heads? And what size are the push rods I
    may need?

    3. What type of head gasket/size is recommended?

    4. Will this combination run 11s low 12s on pump gas and enough vacuum to run the
brakes? I also want to run the A/C.

Any suggestions you have will be appreciated.

    Thank You

    Patrick

Patrick, You have a decent street combination there. The cam is mild enough for power brakes . The heads (Gessler) are capable of producing good power levels. you can use the felpro head gaskets no problem, others will work as well, I would stay away from ROL.
The one thing you did not indicate is where you are located, what is the altitude where you are wanting to run this car?
At sea level, this combination should get you easy low 12's if you hook the car up, at higher altitude, it may not be enough motor to get you there. Altitude makes a huge difference on how fast cars run. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES

low 12s should be possible, you might need more converter, most cars running low 12s with a similar combo have 60' in the 1.65 range so they are running more converter to get a better hole shot. if you get it to hook up good i think you could get there. as for high 11s, dont be like me, i was so set on my combo going high 11s, after completly going threw the car, and being a complete rookie on setting it up i had a lot of problems, but it did run 12.7s the first day at the track. im going for low 12s now, then high 11s. it sucks up here in the northwest, i cant race till april.
