Al.....'68s are my Fav year for a Vette I've said to myself Many time, If I ever find an empty NICE shell I'd stuff a honkin' TurboBuick motor in it....and know that TA has the Alum. block.....:Brow:
68 Corvette Al, its a completley # mataching car I've owned over 20 years and 2 marrages  . I'm really not a Corvette guy just saw it in someones back yard one day in the early 80s and saw it had the right amount of pedels on the floor and I brought her home.
That's awesome Al:3gears: :Brow: But when are ya gonna finish that garage? :moonu: JKuzzled: D.:spank:
68 Corvette Thanks!!! Good Call :TU: , I enjoy working on my toys more then working on my house. But it has come along, from no heat or ceiling to a workable comfortable complete shop. I'll post some pixs later as I progress, AL :beer
Looks like he's got wallboard and prolly insulation 'between the studs .....thats alot further than mine !!
Ya, looks like a nice set up. I'm stuck with our 2 1/2 car with no insulation/heat/AC 110v. Some day when we can move up north we'll have a nice big toy room like you. I hope. later Al, D.
couple comments... I thought the 68s had painted fender vents, 69s had the chrome. back that long time ago the 68-69 were going dirt cheap compared to the mid years unless they were big blocks. Even then, they were so cheap compared to now. You had a lot of forsight picking that up.
68 Corvette Alan, as I posted before it was completely unfinished, looking up threw the rafters. Now I have heat (both walls) a compresser (industrial) complete set of tools, icebox, telephone and tunes. AL
68 Corvette Mike, in 68 they had the gills on the front fenders painted the color of the car. Late 68 into the 69 model year you could buy a dealer installed chrome inserts in the gills then 69 you could order it that way but it was always a option not standard. Then in 1970 the went to the "egg create" in the fender paint to match, AL.
Re: 68 Corvette Well.....I got the Tunes covered at least ou: Only thing on my side was its a 4.5 car garage - footprint on the survey is almost as big as the house's !!
68 Corvette Thanks!! Paul, I had some issues with the seats and the pillar post covers but thats done and turn out great, I guess I'm kind of picky. The interoir and exterior trim is the worst part. Here is what I started with; :jd:
Hey Al, I redid a 68 327 4-speed Corvette for a friend years ago. Ran like a raped ape with the 4:11 gears, but no power steering made parking a real chore. One thing that stinks is 68 was a stand alone year as far as interior parts......
68 Corvette AL, your right. But its more then that, 68 only: doors, dash pad, instument cluster, all interoir parts (as you mentioned) radio and knobs, tail light and housings, last year for 327&427 only one year used in this body), ralley wheels (15X7) - (15X6 in 67 - 15X8 in 69) fuel door (rivited on) 2 1/2" exhaust standard on all in 68, seat belt system, back up lights under bumper, front marker lights, hood latch and hold down system, steering column (keys switch on dash) 16" plastic wood steering wheel, shifter boot for a short list. Yes mine in correct and has been a challange!!! .:Brow: AL
68 Corvette AL, this Corvette is the same you worked on, no A/C, P/S, PB just tinted glass, red wall tires, 4-speed trans, 3:55 posi, AM/FM mono, rear window defoger(blower type) and shoulder harness seat belts, AL.
