Does anyone know where to get the correct nuts that hold on the chrome piece to the rear quarter extensions for a 70 buick stage 1? I think I have some originals but I am missing some. If I am correct they have a weld nut on top of a washer with little raised edges.

You have the wrong ones...you need the "acorn" nuts....I think you can get those at any hardware store.

George is correct; acorn nuts were on these originally.

they aren't solid acorn nuts like you might see on a Jaguar cam/rocker cover or a lug nut... they are stamped steel and are hollow....so basically they are a speed nut that is formed into the acorn shape.

    Got some.

I think I saved some of those that were left over from a car.

If you want them send me a PM and I will check.

Thanks guys that all makes sense now. It is not fun messing with these cars when someone else has been there before you.
