    Howdy,

I love old cars when you could order them the way you want them. This has to be a rare car.
1964 BUICK LE SABRE, 4-door sedan, alum V8, 300 4 barrel, 400 transmission, factory Posi, power steering, power brakes.

Can't have made too many of those. Its close by and I'm thinking about going to check it out. Kind of like it in that yellow cream colour with a black vinyl top or maybe a WH1 like 2-tone.

Isn't it just the heads that are aluminum? I was thinking the 215 was the only total aluminum motor.

I'd assume so, from what I can tell the 64 V8 is simply nicknamed the aluminum 300 due to its Al heads and intake. The all iron is nicknamed the cast motor.

  4. only heads and intake are aluminum :TU:
if you need any parts there are a few like it here
nice car, hard to find one like that in good shape :3gears:

That is cool. I assumed a lot of them came that way. I've got a one almost identical to that one, but just 2 door , and 2 barrel carb. My gransmother ordered it that way, so she could tow stuff with it. It's the regular Lesabre, but she ordered the wildcat 300, or 310, can't remember, also with the posi rear end and 400 tranny. Mine is not in as good condition as that one is though.

Does it have the 400 badges? I have never seen a 1964 with them.

Have never been close enough to the car to see. It's still for sale but I've decided that I'd rather keep my current FWD but EFI car, especially for days like today when it was 12F outside and the doors were nearly frozen shut, for a daily driver.

For the last two years, I had a 74 LeSabre as a winter beater. I was very happy with it, it was quite reliable and also very fun to drive. It wasn't too hard on gas with the 350-4. It was showing some rust when I bought it and it was getting worse with the road salt so I decided to repaint it after I removed my other cars from storage last spring.
It was a cheap repaint but I still felt it was too nice to drive in winter again. I sold it this summer and I now use the 1991 Park Avenue that I got a few years ago as a supposed daily driver (it never was until now)... I returned to university last fall so it saves me some gas (I have to travel over 3 hours a day, 4 days a week) so I save about 75$ a week compared with my other cars that I was using before November but it still costs me over 100$. My heavy right foot can't get better than 16MPG with the 91 but that's better than 9-10 with my other cars!
The Park Avenue is in nice shape for a 1991 with 271,000 KMS on it but I still miss my other cars. Everyday when I go to University, I see 73 Centurion and a 67 Riviera parked in Montreal and I wish I had one of them as a winter beater...
