Damian you aren't going to like hearing me say this but that Offy Manifold has been a huge dissapointment for many of us. I've yet to run across someone who is happy with it's performance. It looks nice and has the wow factor but they just won't flow the volume our Nailheads need.
I seem to remember on the old GSCA board that someone had done some serious port work and managed to get it respectable, might have been Jim Burek but I'm really not sure.
Your building what sounds to be a real nice motor so I figured to throw my 2 cents into the mix.
Personally I'm going with a Buick 2x4 manifold that is being worked by Greg Gessler.

i already got the offy though and its in the chrome shop getting plated so oh well i guess ill see how it works hmmm im not gonna be revving the hell out of the engine really the most rpms itll ever see is maybe 5500 if some riceburner pisses me off at a light other than that im gona cruise her im just thinking of maybe running a bigger cam than i was thinking in the first place along with a higher stall and lower gears but i wonder what kind of gears i should run with the cam im looking at, the lift is .480/.480 and duration is 224/224 would a 2500 stall be streetable and would 3.55's or 3.73's be alright on the freeway? also what kind of compression would be good with this cam? i was thinking of running 10.5:1 because i heard with an engine that is running iron heads the higest you want to run is that or else youll have probs with detonation. please help me here. my e mail is sixfourlesabre@sbcglobal.net
