It is a 1970 GS455 2 dr. Hardtop, Glacier White with no vinyl top and Black Bucket Seat interior made the first week of March 1970 in the Flint Mich. plant. HTH JA
your not giving me ideas of cloning. I am looking at a "70' GSX" Stage 1 car to purchase ....so far so good I guess
Point is the tag will not tell you any more. It is white, black buckets, built in Flint but needs SS matching engine # and BB auto trans (if so equipped) for the stage 1 option and needs the special GSX items for that option. Also and more important this car can be validated by the Sloan Museum to relieve any doubt. My car is a 04D and they have the microfiche for it. Go here and for $10 they will send you the invoice for it. Good Luck JA Click here for the Sloan Museum
called Sloan Museum they do not have any documentation for cars with a production number later than 193XXX. So for 253876 I have to go elsewhere I have called wayne roberts, who has this info, but have not gotten him on the phone yet.
I'll say this,if you're looking to validate a GSX, contact Duane Heckman right here on this board(or the BPG board). He knows more about GSXs than most anyone else I know. :TU:
The only way to really authenticate a 70 GSX is to find the original Build Sheets and let me verify it, or contact Wayne Roberts. He has the Microfilm for these cars and can verify it that way. He charges $50.00 and will send you sheets that list all the options the car came with. Here is his info; Wayne Roberts 5721 Livernois Rd. Troy, Mi. 48098 You need to send a check for $50.00 to "Wayne Roberts" your name and address your phone# full vin # and body number His info starts from vin# OH 193560 (For Flint cars only) If you go to my website, classic car interiors.com I list the prices I charge to decode build sheets, and show an example of one I decoded. Good luck. Duane
Good afternoon: Here is what the microfiche build sheet looks like. This is the one to my car. Click the link below to download. thx JA
