What a shame. So many cars that would be great, and they will probably be parted out, or rust.

I dont think he does. Theres a guy that that trys to sell cars for him, they have some deal worked out, the guy sells a car he gets something taken off cars he wants blah blah blah... thats why they are so expensive, every one gets a cut...... but from what i understand hes never sold a car....not one...as a matter of fact the middle man said hes never made enough to pay gas to show cars to people... I found him on Craigs list, he brought me in, I promised i wouldnt say who and where...i never said it was a secret, i said i wouldnt tell who and where....and i couldnt get anyone anything.....i try to keep my word....are you sure its this yard?

I talked to the owner, he said he hasnt sold anything on the web, he said he really hasnt done much in 5 years, since he inherited the place...

name some websites and his ebay screen name...i'd like to know....

because ive searche and searched trying to find this place on my own, i knew the town, but thats all...i am pretty dedicated to searching and finding places like this, and ive spent 5 months trying to get in, and about 7 trying to find it on my own....i finally hooked up with the middleman...i understood it was closed down, by appointment etc..but found out that wasnt true...anyone can get in, if you can find it.

he doesnt part anything...he wants to sell whole cars...the cheapest car i saw and asked about was 1800 bucks, for a car i feel is 4 or 5 hundred...neat stuff was 28oo+.....sooo they will rust to dust...

I am thoroughly convinced that most of the people that own these classic car junkyards are mentally ill.

They would rather these cars return to the earth as dust than sell them to someone who is trying the restore a car. It is easier to get government funding than it is to get a part from one of these junkyards. I never bother going because I can't deal with the mentality of the owners.

Its just a cutlass, somone tried to H/O clone it in the 80s...its 4 hrs from me...i really dont think ill ever go back....just too high on prices, and all the cool stuff is really ruff..thats why its still there probably....

Heres an example..67 RS SS 350 camaro, bare shell, rusty, and i mean rusty hulk, missing trim tag, but you can see its an SS RS car, no floors, no trunk no suspension..just a rusty bare shell.....i know what it sold for..2800 bucks....i mean you could barely tell it was a car its so bad...Dude that was buying it was going to RESTORE it..ya right, he bought it for the VIN and title.....

I feel the same exact way..too the T...I am to the point, id rather just not go to big yards anymore...that is any that are left...

Heres their mindset..I got it you dont!

I tried to buy 3 Javelins from him, when he told me the prices I said thanks, but no thanks...he got pissed because i would even confront him or discuss it. it was like he wanted me to beg for them, but i just shut him down and went home 4 hr drive home......8 hrs for nothing,,,,but i gotta say it was a great day! I snuck off from work..like playing hookey...just a great day!

Man I know what you mean about some of these guys. They are control freaks and they think that what they have is GOLD. I tried to buy a 51 Victoria froma guy when I was 18, (31 years ago).

When I offered him $500.00 he almost when into a tyrant. Now this car had sat for about five years behind his barn and needed lots of love but it was all there and could have been drivable with little effort.

He said do you know what that car is worth restored? At that time maybe 10 grand, but you would spend 15 doing it. His next commet was I would rather let it sit there and rust away to nothing before I sold it for $500.00 bucks.

Well to make a long story short, that winter was possibly the heaviest snow fall we had seen for years. The barn collapsed and fell over on the Victoria flatening it out to junk. The scrap guy hauld it away.

The best part is the fool didn't have any type of insurance on the barn or the car, what a waste.

We all have storiest like this, but these people have that mind set and it's to bad that they let these tressures just disappear to junk.

I am trying to find out if there is any interchangability between years for my 1968 Skylark 2-door 350/2bbl, powerglide two door hardtop. It needs a driver front fender, headlight bucket for that corner and grille. Bumper can be repaired , I think, but might need that also. i thought the fender was same 68-70 but now not sure. Any thoughts???

You gotta love guys like that...we've got them up here too. There's a large yard about 15 miles away from me that still has some large Buicks from the early 50s to the 80s, and a few newer ones as well. I go there every spring to see if there's anything new, and unfortunately there isn't. I used to be able to deal with the guy, but lately he's been watching too much Barrett-Jackson and he figures he's sitting on a gold mine. Last year I did need a few parts and he thoroughly hosed me on them. Now he doesn't have anything I need so I won't go back there anymore.

He's got a few 64-69 Wildcats, no options, (farmer cars, 4 door sedans), a few very "naked" LeSabres of the same vintage, and one or two Electras, mostly from the early 70s. They've been there for at least 25 plus years, have been well picked over, and are pretty rusty. As far as 'Larks are concerned, he's got a couple of low-end 2bbl models. There is a 68 Riv there, but it's pretty much shot, and there's nothing really left.

PM me if you want the address and phone number of this place.
