I ran across some old Iron in the middle of nowhere last summer. It was amazing that some of this is still around. There was more stuff but I did not take as many pictures as I wanted to. There was a building with probably over 10,000 rechromed bumpers but none of them were labeled and very hard to look through. I will add as many photos as I can. There were also buildings and trailers filled with trans hard parts and misc parts in general.
wow, where in Illinois is that? that looks like my old 64 Riv! the guy I sold it to back in about 1973 wrecked the front end!
I believe that they are closed in the winter. These guys do it as a hobby and side money from what I was told. The one guy told me if I could guarantee him sales that he would open it for me and my buddies on a Sunday. They are only opened on Saturday as well through the good warm seasons. I will be out there early spring to see what else they have. I have my eye on a few things but I was unable to make it back there last year.
The guys in Tonica have that yard and 2 more. I started going their in the early 90's when it was a different owner. I bought a 71 GS hood complete from their for $150 in 1991. What a neat place. Tony
If that yard is one of the tonica guys yards I know where it is. I know the owner personally. those yards are only a few miles from here where I grew up! I actually recognize some of those cars so I has to be the place. and I swear thats my old 64 Riv!
