Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars I like the old '54 nailhead with all the kill stickers. Man, that was a real symbol that your car was fast, and that you could drive, kill stickers. Nice pics, thanks for posting.
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars That's sooo cool Jim. I have never seen these before! And I thought I had most all the pics of there cars. Is it possible to get a better picture of the last page of the GS with the Motor Spyder wheels? I'm right now in the process of restoring mine. Thanks!!!! Guy
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars Guy I can try but a scan of a bad pic to start with is never but so good. I saw your car in the lot. How about the Riv and the Vette.
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars How do you like Bob Thetford's '70 GS Stage 1 with the tape over where the Stage 1 badge is? Pretty sneaky wouldn't you say??!!!!!!
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars Anymore info on the 'Riv? Was it a drag car or I heard of a rumored Kenne-Belle NASCAR Riviera.
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars I don't know what it is but I really like the pic of this on of there cars. The stance maybe....looks tuff:3gears:
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars Here is a walk down memory lane for ya.. This is the Original introduction article, done by Cars magazine, in Sept of 1968, for the STG 2 package. This was used as a dealer handout, and I have a mint condition original that a local long time buick racer gave me.. he also has an original KB catalog, that he let me see.. as well as hand written letters from Jim Bell, circa 1969.. wow.. Let's see how the sizing and scans come out on this stuff..
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars Im surprised no one has done up a 70's retro Buick race car. Picture this- A 70 GS done up in a paneled paint job- ala Dick Baker. Maybe Bamboo cream with root beer panels and lacing. A cool name on the side. Remember when race cars had names? Or a defunct buick dealer's name as a sponsor. Some vintage Motor Wheel Spyders or Cragar S/S's. A set of mini tubs out back and old school ladder bars. For the engine- all old Kenne Bell stuff. Chrome 69 valve covers with Mike Garrison's Kenne bell decals, maybe a C107 window rattler, B4B, Holley carb, and a set of M/T headers. Wouldnt that be cool? :bglasses:
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars gotta love photobucket! pg 2 Pg 3 Pg 4 :TU: Wait till I post the original invoices for parts from the dealer, cira 1970, with the stg 2 heads.. :eek2: But I gotta get to work.. JW
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars Yes it would be Jason. Then along with all those things, you can get one of those old Deist flameproof suits(the ones that were a reflective silver) with the gas mask. Wouldn't that be cool? That article is very cool Jim! Really nice to see Car Craft took the time to write such a lengthly article on the Buick GS-400. They knew Buick was very serious about performance and wanted the reader to know that. Looking forward to seeing the parts invoice to put us all in a state of shock!!!!!!
Re: Old Time Pics Kenne-Belle Equipped Cars I have those too: How about Stage II iron heads for $265.75 retail and $151.47 wholesale.
