    Hi all,
Does anyone know anything about the Olds UHV ignition that came on 442s, etc (factory option)? My dad had one on his 68 442 and thinks the box may be bad. Are the boxes repairable? He thinks when the engine was rebuilt many moons ago, a wire was crossed and may have shorted it out. The rest of the ignition (dist., etc.) checked out OK.
    Thanks,
    Ed

It is one of the early transistor ignitions and it can be repaired. I believe the first year in an Olds may have been 67. I had its own distrib. that was part of the package.

Thanks Jim. Do you know who might be able to repair the box? The distributor checks out OK. It was rebuilt after the problems surfaced.
    thanks again,
    Ed
