After sitting for 25+ years, my ( actually my wife's) 1973 GS is up and running again thanks to John Csordas and his team at the Auto Center. I got the car back a couple of weeks ago after some extensive mechanical work and upgrades. The body still needs some attention but that will have to wait, as everyone knows, the cost of Buick parts coupled with the work that was done is not cheap. I wish I had the knowledge, capability and tools required to do the work myself but that wasn't in the cards. On that note, I have gained a tremendous amount of respect for guys who wrench their own cars. Just sourcing all the parts was a challenge so the thought of doing that and wrenching is something that is quite a task. I really appreciate the help the V8 forum has given me to source what was needed and help understand the different options John implemented. Anyway, the mechanicals consisted of: Engine: 455 .030 over Crank polished and cut 10:1 TA pistons TA413 roller cam Very well ported SE1(357/228) Match ported SP1 Roller rockers Roller lifters TA HP Oil Pump TA timing cover HP Double roller TC ARP bolts TA 7 qt high capacity oil pan Holley Super Sniper EFI TA HP water pump TA SFI Flexplate TA harmonic balancer Power master starter Power master 155 amp alternator MSD distributor MSD coil MSD wires MSD 6AL CR 10.3 Exhaust: TA 2" full length headers TA 3" Mandrel exhaust Dynamax Ultra flo mufflers DeWitts 1 1/4" coil aluminum radiator Heat sink Trans cooler 20" fan HP fan clutch Tanks gas tank 400 lph in tank fuel pump Allstar calipers New pads and shoes New master cylinder New fuel lines All new hoses and belts KYB gas adjust shocks all around Mcwheels 15×7 front and 15x10 rear with Cooper cobra 235's front and MT 295 drag radials rear H and R sway bar and upper/lower kit Autometer gauges Driveshaft girdle TH 400 Transmission rebuild with all HD components Yukon 373 gears Probably some other stuff I'm forgetting So, it's been quite a 9 month experience from start to finish and thanks again to all that helped. Will post a few pics separately. Steve
