I would like to change my 1979 350 Buick to a one belt drive system. Has anybody done this? If so, give me the details. Also, what are the biggest intake and exhaust valve this engine will take. I plan to get a LITTLE perform work done to the heads. Any suggestions:Do No: ? Thanks.

I haven't tried it yet, but I have been wondering if the serpentine system from a later model 3800 would work. Seems like it should.:Do No: I know for a fact, that the 231" accessories/brackets bolt right up to a 350" (early 80's style V6).

For oversize valves - go with the TA stainless valves [1.92" intake, 1.55" exhaust]. Make sure the machine shop opens up the throat to its full potential!!:Smarty: If they just do a valve job for the bigger valves, without cutting or porting - you'll actually flow WORSE than before!!

    Some use a 75* or 77* angled cutter....others use a 'bowl hog' - either works fine.:TU:

Polishing the combustion chamber to a nice smooth finish is also a really good idea!! Helps control detonation and gives less of a rough surface for the burnt mixture to stick too.

    CIT Poweraddict, help me

Remember the waterpump will be rotating the other way, so you can't use the one you have now.

Oh, and the fan will too (almost forgot it again  )
