Hey Louie, Why did you wait until you were 15 to join? Welcome aboard - you will make tons of new friends here. And don't worry - I'm 47 and still learning! Best Wishes,
Hey, welcome to the board! I'm oly 15 too, so i guess we are among the youngest members on here. I bought my skylark last summer and havent looked back since (except to see the non buicks in the rear view miror). Anyway, the guys on here are really helpful and will go out of their way to help you. Also, when is your birthday, I wnt to see who is younger! :TU:
well over the summer i fell in love with the gs but was real busy with football so now in the offseason i have some time on my hands
I turned 15 last july. Yeah, I have to wait until I'm 16 to get my license. All the more time to work on my buick!
haha i might be buying a 66 riv but i really wanna get a 70-72 GS for my first car. do you do all the work yourself?
Welcome to the board! Hey you're off to a great start. You like good muscle cars and you get onto a board like this to learn. I'm learning something new all the time and I'm 44. Join in all the conversations that you like, put your 2 cents worth in and enjoy.
thanks, i like the buick muscle cars for there uniqueness. not to mention how underated they are my point of view is when you here the world muscle car you think camaro, GTO, mustang, Charger, Challenger, etc... rarely do you here Buick but they have shown they can compete with anyone else
Welcome to the board kiddo, your 15, bout time to go find you an old buick isnt it? Nothing better than having you own old car and getting to put you own hard work and time into and making it your own.
Yeah, i do all of the work that I can myself. Right now I am in the process of painting my inner fenderwells and core support. I aleready have one fenderwell painted and lookng factory fresh. I also ported my exhaust manifolds two weeks ago. I am waiting to get a job before I start building the motor. My plan is to have a 12 second car that looks like a factory GS455 or Stage1, of course with a few unseen mods like a performer intake and worked over heads. My grandpa also sent me the parts to convert to front discs, so right now my project is putting the brakes on and restoring the frontend (new bushings, paint the componnents and frame). Do you plan on doing all the work on your car?
my dad and i split it 50\50 he tells me what to do.....i do it. i just started primering with an air gun and havent gotton good at it yet.
You should consider taking a trip south to Yardley's picnic. You'll meet up with alot of good folks there and have a great time.I live about 2 hours southwest from Scranton and know there are a few guys with Buicks in your neck of the woods...
Welcome aboard Louie, I wish I would have had someone/something like this when I was 15. I'm only 67, but I'm still learning everyday thanks to the good people on this site. Thom
Don't worry, you'll get good at it soon enough. My dad works on my car sometimes when he gets carried awayou: . I have to remind him whose project it is sometimes! I'm just glad someone my age finally has the sense to drive a buick and not some RUSTANG or import. My friend Jordan has a pretty cool 1980 trans am, but he doesn't want to race my buick. (I wonder why???:Brow: ) Do any of your friends like cars? Some of mine do but they dont appreciate them and know them like I do. Everybody knows me pretty much as THE CAR GUY! Something to be proud of!
theres a few but not as many as i wish. I havent seen anything other really then my dads cars. our shows really are all kit cars, chevys mustangs.......boring....nothing unique
