Found this 71 Skylark for sale and curious to what value would be put on it? It has 45K original miles. Tilt wheel/AC that works as options. Basic skylark otherwise. Original owner with paperwork/documentation. Garaged/no winters since new. Old lady car etc... Interior is spotless. Exterior, chrome all is great. No rust. I'm thinking on buying it and would like some opinions on fair market value? Thanks for any help. Dustin
Dustin, You could compare it to this low mileage 70, which recently sold for $6,700 on ebay and looked to be pretty darn nice. here THIS IS A ONE OWNER WITH 61000 MILES. THE CAR IS IN MINT CONDITION. IT IS ORIGINAL , IT WAS ALWAYS KEPT INSIDE. IT IS NICE ALL THE WAY THRU, NO DASH FADE, NO CARPET WEAR, NO SEAT WEAR, EVERYTHING VERY NICE. THE SEATS STILL HAVE THE OLD PLASTIC COVERS OVER THEM. THE CARPET HAS ALWAYS BEEN COVERED.THE TRUNK AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT NICE. RUNS EXTREMLY GOOD AND OPERATES WELL. THE ENGINE AND UNDER HOOD WERE NOT CLEANED SO YOU MAY SEE NORMAL USE. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS.
Here is a shot of the inside. Not a real desirable color scheme but cars in this condition even skylarks are few and far between! Thanks for the help guys! Dustin
Wow! Clean looking car. Is she asking you for the value or are you just checking to see if she has it priced correctly?
I would try and get the car for $4-4.5K. It's worth more to a Buick guy but selling it to a broader audience north of 5K may be tough. My .02.
I would probably want to be in the $4k range if I was going to re-sell. Probably worth more as a keeper, but you would have to be happy with the color combo, as repainting would obviously add to your cost. Although, black would like awesome with that color interior...... I guess it all depends on your plans for the car.
I am just judging the overall value on the car. I was looking at buying it and she seems to be at a reasonable price. Thanks for the help guys. Dustin
