I sometimes will see them at the swaps down here in SoCal and they range from 250-300 depending on condition.

    Ford 9"

Thanks Jim . I figured around there . I've got the chance to buy the car $ 400.00 locally . Needs a fuel pump I believe . Supposedly has a 351M that runs good . I didn't know Lincoln had the 351M in them .
    Thanks for the help .

    That's because they didn't.

    77-78 had either a 400 or 460
    79 had a 400 2 barrell only.

Are you going to keep the rear and part this car out? Is it a Mark V?

I also dont think they came with a 351M. When I was building my 56 F-100 I bought a 70's Lincoln Versailles (sp). It had a 302/ C-4/ 9" posi with disc brakes. That set up works great in the truck. I paid $500.00 for the whole car.
If it is the Lincoln Versailles that is the same car as a Ford Granada and it should have front disc brakes. I sold those to a guy who was building a mid 60's Ford. I re-couped about 200 of my purchase price.

  6. The Mustang guys go for the disc brake Versailles rears since they bolt right into the early model Mustangs. If the setup is complete you can probably net $5-600.

    Ford 9" Posi

If I can work with the Ol' Gent that owns the Lincoln .I'm going to part it all out . Buddy of mine has got a 84-86 Thunderbird for sale . Runs excellant but needs the alt. replaced and there is a problem with the fuel pump in the tank . Said it ran one day and wouldn't start the next . Very good body,
Enkei "Honey Comb" wheels with good tires . I see a FI 302 for Chillis' 65' Mustang on the horizon :Brow:
So if you know anyone interested I may have a 9" w/disc for sale $400.00 it'll have everything with it cables, park brake , etc.
I'll be checking on it in the next day or so .

I think the Bird should have an 8" independent in it. If it does its an easy install in the 50's and 60's Ford cars and 50's F-100. You have to make a couple of mounting plates but is a winner for a great riding vehicle. If you part the car the rear end should be an easy money maker

Hmmm . . . my 1990 Bronco would like a 9" with discs. I'm guessing the Lincoln has coil springs on all four corners. How wide is it and what kind of gears does it have?

  11. Check to make sure youre diff isn't off center. I think the Ford trucks have the diff off center by about 2"? It's why people aren't using disc rears out of Explorers on their old mustangs. I'm sure you can pick up a conversion kit to put discs on the back of your truck however.
