Man, that SUCKS. I hate thieves!! Ive installed various anti-theft measures on my pole abarn where the Buicks spend a lot of time napping, but I still think about it and routinely take a peak out the back door. It would be pretty tough to get one of them out unnoticed, but nothings impossible. You can pout all the measures you want in, but you can only slow down thieves, never truly stop them.

Hope Mr. Franklin gets his car back in good condition....

That is terrible. Makes me want to go home and hug my car! Seriously, I agree there is only so much that you can do. I try to minimize having my garage open. I even close the door when doing yard work! I do not like to advertise. This really makes me think about more security measures other than my alarm (which is really warn thieves that they will suffer from lead poisoning) and the usual locks.

if a thief wants your car, they will certainly find a method to steal it. Several Years ago, a friend had his '67 GTX stolen. The car was located several years later stored in a warehouse and lined up to be loaded with several other vehicles, into containers, for shipment out of country.
He was prevented by his insurance company from buying back the car when the car went to auction.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I would have had a friend buy it for me in that case.
I hate scumbag thieves as well. I just want them punished more severely then the bleeding heart system does. They get out of prison and go right back at it. These people, for the most part, have zero conscience about taking something that they have no right to. They could care less about how much time and money you have invested in anything, or how much sentimental value it has.

That is a shame to loose something to thieves. Had my candy red Harley FLH stolen 35 years ago out of my garage but the thief was an idiot and pushed it through the grass close to the houses so he wouldn't be seen on the street a block to his house so the trail was easy to follow right to his garage.

With the technology available today you can put proximity alarms plus cameras both of which will alert your phone the second they detect movement fairly inexpensively. No you can't stop every thief but morality today is at an all time low so unfortunately we have to take every precaution we can.

One of the beauties of owning a Model T is that most people don't know how to drive one, and they are relatively cheap. Parts are plentiful, and a Model T is fairly easy to trace. I take the key out of my T when I leave it in public because I'm afraid that some jerk will steal the key - not the car. I do worry about the Buchev though.
