YES Ian !!!!!!!!!! We're proud of ya Bud ! We're watching you ! :eek2: :eek2: :beer :TU: Congrats from Wisconsin ! :beer
I watched quite a bit of the swimming tonight.....we've got a pretty talented team!!:TU: :bglasses: Ian had such a lead in that race.....almost couldn't believe Dan Phelps came back to win it. Then...later in the evening - Phelps announces he won't swim in the upcoming relay. Turns out to be quite an act of sportmanship, with Ian as the benefactor!!:bglasses: (mostly since Ian hasn't won his Gold medal....yet):TU:
Ian was from Portland Maine, His residence is Austin, TX presently. Ian owns a 72 Buick Riviera. Here is Ian and his car although it has been painted and new motor and trans. Ian is the world record holder for the 100m Butterfly (swimming).
Update : Our buddy got a gold ATHENS, Greece(AP) The United States won the men's 400-meter medley relay in world-record time Saturday night, giving Michael Phelps his record eighth medal of the Athens Olympics without him getting into the pool. Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Ian Crocker and Jason Lezak won in 3 minutes, 30.68 seconds, lowering the old mark of 3:31.54 set by the Americans at last year's world championships in Barcelona, Spain.
Congrats Ian!!!!!! I bet I know why he won a gold....Its obvious to me. He was in the Stage 1 of the race.... Way to go Ian!!!! From everyone on here.Congrats. Pat:beer :beer :beer
Been watching, but never knew he liked Buicks! At least I can pull for him in the 1 remaining event he has now. Nice Riv. Need to get him on the board.
Congratulations Ian!! Nobody here could understand why I was applauding and cheering when Ian was introduced just before the start (that every french swimmer was boo-ed away is normal here:grin:  ) Even our national swim hero Pieter van de Hoogenband got a less applaus from me.
I would hang that gold medal from the rear view mirror at the next car show!!!!! Just stay close to it to keep an eye on it.
