Who makes the nicer outside door handles for a 1970 Skylark? I know there are the GM Restoration ones but who else makes nice ones? Thanks
"TrimParts" have a "show" handle, kinda pricey but fits ,feels, and looks perfect imo, they also offer a budget handle, its junk
I just replaced mines with these : http://www.summitracing.com/parts/opg-pz57072/overview/year/1972/make/buick/model/skylark I'am very pleased with the fit and finish on these, the price is great too !!
I have actually considered that. Any idea on cost? I know it changes from location to location but a ball park would help.
Re- plating originals would cost more than a $100.00 plus gaskets. For $60.00 you are ready to go. Orig parts group/ Summit Racing inc. :TU:
In spring 2012, I had some handles rechromed at a shop in East Hartford, CT. If I remember correctly, it was $40 or $45 each. UticaGeoff
The skylark and chevelle handles have a slight difference to them. Will they work, yes. Will you notice, more than likely not. If you put the handles side by side they look almost identical. I would try www.ss396.com and see what they have.
68/69 handles are same as Chevelle 70-72 are Not . All the repo's or nos I've seen are the " thin " versions . The trim parts 68/69 are nice however . Dave not sure enough nice originals to go around . PS that speed sport chrome that advertises in the news letter quoted $127 EACH . DL
