Can someone tell me the overall length and width of a 1971-1972 buick electra, I'm looking to purchase one, but I will immediately have to store it and I wanted to start price garages. Also please free to drop in do's and don't on storing a classic car for the winter. thanks
If you want to be able to get around the nose and tail with the garage door closed, and I mean squeeze by, you'll need a garage with at least 22 feet clear from wall to inside of door. I have that in my garage and the '67 is 223.9 inches, I have 4-5 inches at the back and about 1.5 feet in front so I can work under the hood.
It's even more...... The 1972 model year Electra is 578.86 cm in lenght. Do your math, welcome to the standard of the world...
Friggin' huge! bigger than a Caddy! I when I owned my '72 Electra, I purchased the largest car cover I could find which was 19 feet (5.7912 m) It was a very, very tight fit. I'd look for no less than a 22' deep stall.
David that's a nice 71' you have there were you interested in selling, or is it still considered your baby?!
I'm probably going to have to sell it soon. I have just bought another 69 GS race car roller. I'll need the room to transfer the drivertrain from my orange car. It'll go back to numbers matching stock so I can beat up the new car instead. :3gears: The 71 has 26k miles and runs smoooooooth as silk. One ding in that right front fender and some surface rust on the right skirt. Other than that it is a beauty with Posi rear.
David where are you located and how much, if possible send me a pm I don't want too many people in on it. thanks much if possible send me pictures of interior and everything, and I'll see what I can do. I specifically looking for a 71 or 72 electra or limited. thanks much George
To late..:Brow: I have several Electra lovers after the car already. I have a couple offers. :kodak: The right number will take the car. :dollar: :TU: :TU:
Well currently my bid would be about 2000.00, I don't know exactly what you were looking to get for it, but this is what I have now, let me know, if we can't come together I"ll have to keep looking thankx.
fatboybuick, this is slightly off topic, but I'd love to see a full-size version of your avatar. Looks like an entire line-up of '72 Electra 225's? What is the story behind this photo? Any chance you could e-mail me a full-size version of the photo? brianL@americanconstco.com Thanks!
Hey Brian that's exactly what it is! The first brown one is a 72 limited all the rest are electra's. These are all friends of mine, it's actually 3 brother's, and a friend, we all love this style of electra, I'm currently looking for one for myself, in either a two or four door. I snapped this picture at a car show we were at. Thanks much. Oh yeah, I actually posted a video of them pulling out of this very show on youtube.com , just search under buick electra donk. thanks again
Wow, fatboybuick, those are terrific photos! Looks like sunroofs have been added to all of these cars? Do they all have the large chrome wheels? They all appear to be in beautiful condition. Thanks for sharing the photos!
All have electric moonroofs added, 22" rims, cd players added, some have a little more stereo than others, but just enough to make the cruise pleasant. Make sure you go to youtube.com to see and hear the video, turn the speakers up so that you could hear the muscle!!!!!!:kodak:
