Check out what I did with my spare time. Goto WWW.pacificraceways.com and to the PR Television and select number 8.

Make sure to download the Geovision console. Read the direction if you have questions on the PR television section.

I installed three cameras for right now, if you click on the camera icon on the lower left of the console, you can change them.

I will have one more camera looking down the track from the burnout box area. That will be in a few months.

Live feed from the Drag Strip. I can't wait for the season opener when the Jet cars will light up the track. I wonder if the "Tree Cam" will survive the heat?

I just hope they can survive the heavy usage.
I noticed the ability to change the quality of the feed was removed. That's good work, considering your "spare time" included a few full-day sessions out at the track! Not to mention not getting nearly the compensation that the effort deserved.

    Good job, Rick!

This is not the kind of day to view the cams, but if it was a race day, and you were not sure if they were running cars down the track...........

The fun part for me is going to be able to have first hand close up recording of the wheel stands from the tree cam. It has full motion recording on all cameras.

It did take a week to pull 600+ feet of R-59, install the cameras, computer, antennas, etc. but I think that when the rain goes away, and the cars are going down the strip, it will all be worth it.

Another cool thing is that when there is a dispute with the racers. You just put in the time on the log, and it will play back to that spot. Very quick and simple.

    Rick,
Are these cameras being constantly recorded? If so, then they also serve as a security cam for the track to some degree.

It is such a great program. It really is for security, but can be used for a number of things. It has motion detection, so it would only record when it dectects motion, unless you want to record every minute, which would be a waste. The response on the capture is extremely fast. It can be recorded to CD, or to the harddrive. It also has a recycle section to automatically remove files after x amount of days, so your harddrive doesn't fill up.

It can also send an alarm to me via a phone, email, fax, pager, etc. It has a counter built in, so it can count objects. People walking by, cars down the track.

Another cool function is the license plate reader. It can read and record license plates.

I can set it so it only detects the area in the screen that I want to detect. For example, I just want to detect the cars going down the track, and not the fans in the stands, so I can block them out.

Another feature is that I can watch all screens if I want at the same time, real time. It has a monitoring program, so I could have cameras all over the country and monitor them.

I have been contacting tracks around the country to see if they are interested in this setup.

Its mostly to get people interested in the hobby. See that there is a race going on and get them to the track. More interest, more money for improvements to the track.

Can you tell that I am really excited? There is a local shop that wants me to install one in his shop to show on his web site the engine dynos, and the restorations that are going on.
