I have purchased a 64 Riv. that is painted ' coral mist'. Does any body know how I can find out how many cars were painted that color, how I can come up with some matching paint and what the paint code is. I have never seen any Buick painted this color before but investigating around the car indicates that this is the original color.
The Riviera Owners Association magazine once published %'s by color for at least the early Riv's. Coral mist obviously low production, and I remember only seeing 2. I will post % when I get home later this week if someone else hasn't. John :beer
A tally of the Sloan daily car reports for the 64 model year would have that info. perhaps the Riv Association has obtained this data.
I wasn't able to come up with anything on my formula lookup program using NN. But I can see about getting a number in another brand and maybe cross referencing it.
paint I checked with the ROA. They did list coral mist with the code N. A single letter. I guess my tag is double stamped for what ever reason.
I realize its been nearly 10 years since the question about paint code nn was posted, never-the-less I will post information for anyone else that might be interested. Paint code nn means coral mist top, coral mist bottom. There were approximately 645 cars painted in that color combination. I happen to own one with black interior, 425 CI single 4 barrel carb. electric windows, air conditioning, electric seat, power steering, power brakes with just 28000 original miles. It's an original California car with absolutely no rust. I've owned the car for 4 years and drive it regularly.
John: Don't forget to introduce yourself (and your Riviera) in the Wet behind the ears?? section of the board :Smarty: Wow, it's 2016 now. Are you still not at home? Click here to visit website :Comp: And: :beer
New board member "johnmloghry" replied to this post today, so it ended up in the New Posts section :beer Was the 1964 Riviera in the film "Drive Angry" (with Nicolas Cage) also a Coral Mist car?
