I've seen both terms used, I want to restore the look of the interior plastic trim around the rear window and I was wondering what I should use? Is there a special paint or a dye?

    Thanks!

    Restoring Plastic Pieces

    Hey Gary -
Most of the plastic parts in my Riviera were renewed with custom mix rattle cans. The paint has a special flex agent so it will bond and adhere to clean ABS plastic pieces, and the parts were out of the car.
They look brand new ! :beer :TU:

    Gary,
    For future reference:

    1. Paint: applied to hard surfaces

    2. Dye: applied to soft/flexible surfaces, able to absorb finishes

You can use dye on all interior items except seat material. Due to abrasion wear and constant flexing, dye will never last on seat material.
