paint sample q

    so i posted this on the bpg web page & nobody answered :sleep: if i go to auto paint store and ask for paint samples(bittersweet mist & desert gold)will they laugh at me :ball: what is the procedure for seeing what the color is before i spend $300 for a gallon of paint?can i tell them the year & color or code or shove their face in a picture,or what?how many gallons to shoot a complete car(convert)with 4-5 coats of topcoat? from the movie "carrie" THER'E ALL GOING TO LAUGH AT YOU!!!

    If you can get the paint codes that is best. I have the 70-72 codes somewhere, all the Buick paint codes by diff manufacturers. When you tell them which paint code you want they mix it up to match so doubtful the will mix up two different colors for you to compare (they might though, never know). Probably just show you chips.

    In my case, we ordered the paint and it wasn't even close to original parts I had saved, took them several tries to get it right. The good news is they can play with it and adjust it as you desire.

    Every color is different based on coverage and color. GET SOME EXTRA, might need it one day....I think we ordered 6 quarts for my ragtop, but he said it didn't cover very well....
