Painting Headers

    I know painting headers isn't highly looked upon,but I'm in highschool and I want to put my headers on my 65 Skylark w/300.I've headr that BBQ paint it good for painting headers with,What are your opinions?Is there a better paint?I can't afford ceramic coating,so help me out guys!!

    Contact a local alumacoat business in your area. I had mine alumacoated for $100. Basically, it works like a mig welder with compressed air. The alum rod is melted at the tip and hi press air blows the molten aluminum on the headers. Well worth the money, mine are 12 years old now and still look great.

    I took my headers off and had them sand blasted (need to do that with used headers)and bought a can of Eastwoods exhaust manafold paint.

    If I had it to do over again, I would of bought the gray not the silver color. :Dou:

    If you don't have a oven to cure them in after they are dry, be careful when handling them as the piant will be soft until it is baked on.
