Hello, what is the best way to prep a surface with chrome for good paint adheasion? The reason is I'm painting my truck rim centers black. Thanks John.

    northcorner Guess what I'm thinking..

A buddy of mine that has a body shop says to etch the chrome with acid first. But, he also said that it's just plain hard to paint over some chromed surfaces. :Do No: Hope this helps.

There is a special black primer for what you want to do.
Contact a local auto body supply store and they will know what to sell you.
