Just wanted to say what's up to everyone here. I have read alot of information on the site already. I just purchased a 1984 Buick Regal Limited with the 200R4, the 4.1 V6, and only 60,800 miles on the odomoter. I understand that the 3.8 and the 4.1 are practically identical except for the bore (piston size). I was wondering if all the parts for a 3.8 would fit a 4.1? Such as intake, headers, etc. I would like to beef up the motor a little, and do any of you guys know where to get these parts?

    Thanks,
    Goo

    4.1

Goo : my understanding is the 4.1 uses the turbo crank , much stronger ( outer edge of the crank journals radius'd ? ) . sold a check'd and polished 4.1 crank awhile ago to a guy that filled me in on that . i have 2 4.1's and a 3.8 apart if you need parts . edelbrock performer intake also , decent shape . del

I am really just looking for the regular performance parts. You know, headers, intake, maybe a different cam, although I have found a place you can find those, but with the 4.1 being the same as the 3.8, is it possible to buy headers for a 3.8 and put them on my car? Or an intake for the 3.8 and put it on my car? I have found many parts for the 3.8, but few for the 4.1. Are they all interchangeable?(except for the pistons of course)...

    thanks for the help guys

cuz you know i want people to look at my car and be like

    3.8 parts

hey yes most 3.8 parts will fit a 4.1. the turbo guys use the 4.1 swap alot . its like a 305 chevy being dumped for a 350 chevy.same on the outside just diffent bore. so pick up whatever you find.

I have a set of used hooker headers and a Weiland single plain aluminum manifold. Let me know if you are interested and make me an offer.

Will the q'jet on my regal bolt onto the intake? I was looking for an edelbrock, however, they said it wouldn't work with the stock carb?

You will probably have to use an adapter for the manifold. We use to run a holley sreadbore carb I believe.

yeah, right now I just got the car, so I am doing all the little $#!t to get her running right again. When I do get a different carb I will go ahead and replace the intake. How much for the headers?
