Part # has 8727536 and then a "T" Its trim potmetal and looks like a corner vinyl trim moulding piece.... Looking for the year and what exactly its for THANKS !!
Thanks Gary - could be.... o No: Im trying to help Ken M. out here. He's been told that the only difference between the 68 and 69 is the stud location. My part # isn't close to the one listed in that ad....the ad says that one is a '68. We're hoping mine is a '69 so it will help him out Can someone look up that part # I listed above please ??
8727536 Alan, The #8727536 does not have any history of being a correct part number. If it is on the part its a casting no. Match it on another model Skylark and let me know and I'll see what I can do about finding you a part number. GM grouping for the rear top molding is 12.116C.
Dave G Allan, Dave Gramlow has the part from ebay! If you can get him to look at the casting #s on the piece to see if they are close, that would give you a part # !
Sure, I can check it out. I'm pretty sure it is a 68 piece, but will have a look. I've also been trying to help Ken find a correct piece.
You guys are awesome. I can't believe there's so much iffyness (if that's a word) on these pieces, but it wouldn't be Buick if it was straight forward now would it? :error:  By the way Alan, that piece sure looks like the right piece. At least I know for sure the application is what I am looking for, but it would remain to be seen on the stud locations. It would be easy for me to tell you the hole locations if I was near my car. :error:
:beer :beer I have some other pictures but I left my CF card in the camera ou: No music for my commute today and no pics for you either David - If you look on edge at the end of the piece, is it half one thickness and then steps to the other half being a smaller thickness ??
Alan, I'll try to dig it out of the garage after work tonight. ...hey, I found the ebay listing from Gary. It states: Doesn't sound like it would help Ken. I also have a used set off a 68, still in my storage unit, that I started moving into the garage last weekend...
Oh man, what a hen's tooth that part is! I missed out on that one man. Of course, the question remains, would it have really been the correct part for a 69? I've learned over the years that there are more differences between the 68's and 69's than there are similarities....
Don't fret over that one Ken, I got that from Gary, it is part numbered for 1968 left rear. You've said before that the 68 you tried did not line up with your 69's holes. Has someone with 69 books posted a part # from the 69 book? I would seriously doubt they are identical. Alan, you must have this # somewhere? By the way, the casting # on the one I got from Gary is 7746861, while the GM box p/n is 1394299. Ken, didn't you say before that the part you needed should have 2 studs? Or am I growing senile...
Your part number matches the number on one I removed (broke) from a 69 GS350. I'd say it's a 69 part.
Well Ken, Looks like we have a match !! David - nice Knees :Brow: is that a 68 or 69 parts book you are resting on them ???
