Just got a set of '67 arm rest pads from The Parts Place. Not a match for the Deluxe original. Missing groove along outside edge.... Simply a 13 1/2 "long black vinyl/rubber rectangle about 1/2"thick with arm pull cut-out recess . Would not refund the shipping charge ($10.00)to me and I have to pay for shipping it back($10.00) to them. This after I was reassured by "JR" at the Parts Place before I placed the order that they were exactly like the originals. Oh well, the government prints $20.00 bills every day. Archie

I ordered a set of these for my 64 Skylark and was assured by e mail from Parts Place that they were the same in appearance. Received them today.

They do look very similar. Grain is close, not quite as shiny. Seem a little thinner from back surface at chrome base to front face. Fit decent with a little tweeking. Looks like they were molded from an original, but back edges aren't rounded as much since they are a solid rubber/vinyl piece instead of a wrapped piece like GM. Might not pass for concourse restore, but a lot better than torn or cracked older ones. And at $89 for a pair, compared to $90 to $200 each for Just Dashes to re-do them, worth the cost. Shipping was $15 and received in 2 1/2 days.

    Here's some pictures...

Archie...are those like the pads you got from TPP? The ones in Michael's pics? They don't look too bad. Michael...how long ago did you buy those?

    Frank,
I ordered these Tuesday 7/24 and got them Friday 7/27. I saw them listed as being available on another thread started by deacon07 titled deluxe arm rest base and pads. The reply was from George..GStage1 from board. I actually ordered them before I saw Archies post and got worried that they were going to be wrong. So I pm'd Archie about it and he said his were incorrect. Tried to cancel order with Parts Place, but was already shipped. Ended up surprised they were actually not too bad for a repop. Hope this helps some people here.

They look pretty good Michael! I don't really need them, but I wouldn't mind having a pr in my stash. Thanks for the response.

    Frank,
You bet! They aren't perfect, but I think they would work, and most people wouldn't notice the difference. Of course the Buick guys can spot anything.

Mike lucked up! They sent him the right part! Not at all like what they sent me! What I got was a flat ,rounded edge rectangular 3/4 thick pad w/no groove! Am pleased that TPP has a servicable arm pad.Now to call them and have a discussion about the error in what they sent me.

Arm Rest Pad Update! Good To Go! Sent the thin pads back to TPP two days ago. In mail today were the correct pads with credit card refund for my return shipping cost! Thanks to Stacy at TPP for straightening this out. They are as described in Mike's post above. Now to dye them blue! Archie
