    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Well, I got PPI repro 68-70 washer fluid bottle yesterday.
At first glance, it looked okay but I knew something was wrong.

Called PPI today and spoke to Joe(have been told he is the owner). He was very
"to the point" stating that is the correct bottle and no one has complained
in 2 years they have been selling them. Hmmmmmm, wonder how many
they sold? I told him the original has only 2 mounting tabs and there is a large
hemi-spherical boss on the bottom to make it sit properly on the fenderwell.

Then he stated do you have them "in-hand?" I said no, I am at work
and I know the one you are selling is not correct. He then stated in a
stern voice "That is the correct one!"

Ok, would like to know if anyone has ever seen one like
    their reproduction piece.

I am about to do the same thing I went through with them on
their shift cables for 70-2 Skylark/GS models. I told them
the one they initially sold was a Chevelle version and Buick uses
an eye on one end and a smooth cable end with a trunion
on the trans end. Hmmmm, about 9-10 months later they
    started carrying the correct one.

I congratulated them on their repro 70 GS grill. I bought
3 of them and was very happy. Seems to me they just
don't want to listen to some "experts" on 70-2 Skylark/GS
models. When enough people complain, they seem to change
    their "philosphy."

Would appreciate some feedback if members here have
experienced the same thing with the washer bottle.

Will attach some pics showing the comparison of the originals
I have removed from 70 Skylarks, part # 1385660, and PPI repro unit.

George- Looks like they shipped you the wrong bottoe by accident. Here is a picture of the bottle I recieved from the Parts Place last year. The 2 mounting pads lined up perfectly with the holes in the innder fender

If it were yellowed, it would probably pass for an original. Its a nice piece. Im sure someone just picked the wrong one in the warehouse

In looking at the one you got, I bet its a 70-72 Olds Cutlass/442 bottle

BigBlock68 Love that old car smell.

The only complaint I have about the repro bottle is that the bump on the back seems alot bigger than the one on the original bottle.

    Washer Bottle Mix Up

Ok, it seems that we had (now corrected) two spots with washer bottles marked 68-70 Skylark Washer Bottle... As you have all figured out he was pulled a wrong one off our "extra" shelf. :Dou: We are picking up his wrong bottle and getting him out a replacement today. Sorry for inconvenience this may have caused you George.

Called PP today and spoke to Van or Dan,
told him of my situation and said he would send a call
tag for the incorrect bottle. After I got home from
work, I had a message on my recorder from Shane that
acknowledged a mishap and will be sending the correct
    bottle to me.

NOW! That is what I call GREAT customer service!

Please see my other post here about Year One and
their outrageous pricing for shipping. This is a good
    one.

I hope PP takes the initiative and makes some more
repro parts such as the 70 rear bumper BUICK plate
and undercuts Year One. I can not stand Year One's
    shipping policy/charges.

Thanks Shane and keep up the great work! :TU:
