PCV valve for big-block Buick - anything special?

    Dear V-8 Buick engine gurus,

Greg is working up a storm at Orinda Motors on my trusty 1965 Buick Special wagon and her "assertive" Jim Weise masterpiece engine. However, Greg does have a weakness, he is mostly a Chebby kind of guy. So Greg asked me to find a PCV valve for this engine. Checking on the Summit website, I find that the Fram FV112 is a replacement for quite a few big-block Buick engines.

Looks like this valve or something like it is all the doctor ordered. Anything tricky about these PCV valves that would explain Greg's puzzling question?

Thanks for any thoughts you'all might have.

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

One was not supplied by Jim??

Nothing fancy about the valve, it goes in the intake manifold. Do chebby's all go in the valve cover? The only issue is installation can be tricky with the intake on the engine and trying not to pop the gromment into the lifter valley. Use engine oil or something to grease it up for installation and I recommend watching the grommet carefully during installation to prevent this problem. I've accidently popped them through the hole and into the lifter valley and every time have been successful fishing it out with bailing wire or such, but no guarentees of that type of luck holding out.

Don't ask me - I don't speak Chebby either!! (Re: PCV valve for big-block Buick)

Hi Randall and V-8 Buick engine gurus,

Silly me, I didn't think to check the Tri-Shield invoice. :Dou: Of course Jim included one. :TU:

Honestly I was a little surprised by this one. Indeed Greg must be looking in the wrong place!

I'll forward your reply to him and see if that causes some light bulbs to come on!! :idea2:

    Thanks Randall!! :TU:

    Cheers, Edouard :beer
