Maybe I shouldn't say done, since are we ever really done with these cars?

Made some major progress the last 2 weekends buffing paint & getting the trim back on the car. :)
All that is left is the rear bumper, windshield and rear window trim, and get the vinyl top along the quarters glued back down and its trim installed. Planning on driving it next weekend!
    Yea!
The trim running down the center of the hood is the trim from the '68 hood that I used. I like the looks of that style of trim better than the flat piece used in '70.
I have to find some trim clips for the trim on the lower rear quarters just behind the wheel. I have enough for one side, but not both. I either lost the baggie for one side, or they broke when I removed them years ago. Don't recall.

Must feel good to be that close. Congratulations! Git-R-done before the snow flies!
Looking awesome with the trim back on. How long has it been since you had it out on the highway?
Let us know how it runs.

Thanks guys! It's an uplifting feeling to see it finally coming back together.

It's been something like 7 or 8 years since I was last able to drive it. [IMG]

I started out with intentions of just painting it, but it grew beyond that into an engine rebuild etc.
Time, money. Money, time. Never quite enough of either at the same time to go gangbusters on it and get it done in short order.

Absolutely gorgeous, Dale! Thanks for the pics! :TU:

To think that some people still diss the '70 Riv's. They are probably the nicest of all of the Rivs with the fender skirts and the curved side spears.

I would gladly trade my '69 for a nice '70 with the large skirts.

    Fabulous! :TU:

Very nice! Be carefull putting the rear bumper on. If you scuff the paint where it wraps around the sides It a pain to fix and it can be seen. I taped bubble wrap around that area when I put mine back on then pulled it out after everything was lined up and tight.

Very nice. You don't often see a 70 that nice. Actually, I don't think I ever have! :bglasses::beers2::TU:Are there some interior pics ?

A 70 Riv is such a good looking machine yet so under appreciated in the markt at large.

I like the bubble wrap idea. For the front bumper, I masked the area with duct tape. I've seen where some use that blue painters tape, but that doesn't seem substantial enough to me to prevent a scratch.

It is nice that this Sandpiper Beige is a light and forgiving color because there are a few boo boos.
But, all in all for my first DIY garage paint job using a Harbor Freight gun, and a 20 gallon compressor that some say is too small for the job, it turned out well.
I felt a heck of a lot better about it out after the Wife and I went the MN Street Rod Nationals out at the fairgrounds. There I saw some DIY paint jobs that I would be embarrassed to bring out into the light of day let alone put on public display.

There are a couple of interior pics in my V8buick garage.

    Updates

A few pics from today's shake down drive while working on getting the ignition timing dialed in.
Still need to attach rear window trim, and the trim on the lower rear quarters. Runs fine without it though.
