Im with the "leave well enough alone" crowd. I really believe theres too much complaining going on when it comes to these cars and there perceived lack of coverage.I dont see how you guys that worry about stuff like this have time to enjoy the cars, when you are expending so much effort to over analyzing these non-issues. It is your right to voice your concerns, AND I agree with you. But I believe if you  enough to the right people, it will only tarnish the opinions of the people we are trying to sway.

Myself, Im trying to figure out whos shopping mall Im paying the elctric bill for this month! Junes bill already 475.00, and Im in Texas so guess what? Its not going down for a while! :af: These are the issues I choose to concern myself with! Each to their own though............ :bglasses:

I'd LIKE to see the changes, but I'd rather they come than be scared off by us that we have to have everything perfect.

....while I would have liked to see them get it correct, Im happy enough that they got it. I spoke with Joe for a couple of minutes at the "Nats and he seemed to be genuinely enjoying himself....and was very impressed with what the TriShield was capable of.

Having soemwhat of background in post-production work, I seriously doubt they are going to to interrupt their current editing schedule to take the time to re-edit one segment of one episode that as far as they are concerned, is "already in the can" (meaning completly edited, duplicated and distributed for satellite/cable up-load by their traffic departments). What you are asking goes wayyyyy beyond a simple voice-over. Perhaps if he was interviewing Pres. Bush and constantly referred to him as Pres. Shrub they might make the effort....... :Dou:

I'm mixed on this. On the one hand, I hate when they get it wrong like that when just a wee bit of research would make it correct.

On the other hand, the coverage is welcomed....I don't want to say it's welcomed even as a hack job, but welcomed if it's presented nicely. Honestly, I can't say if it was or not because I haven't seen it.

Hell, even American Musclecar on Speed could have done a better job on their GS presentation in several ways.

What's strange is where the "Grand Nationals" thing came from. :puzzled:

The word Grand isn't even in the event name to begin with. Sure, there's a Grand National car, but the event was never called that. That's where the research comes in. How the hell hard can that be? To find out a club event name? It's called Google. :Smarty:

The fact that this Buick event received national TV coverage is a great thing. The mistakes that were made were tiny as compared to the tremendous amount of positive publicity that was brought to the Buick name.
Leave it be and let people like John Chamberlain continue to make the contacts and promote these cars in a positive way.

I agree with John Chamberlain and others, everyone should be happy they covered the event in the first place. They did a good job with the footage, showed the Buicks in a very positive light, and covered all bases from Full race cars to Concours restorations.

It seems to me that some people don't know when to say, "Thank you".

How about an email campaign to thank Spike for airing our cars? What better way to show how much interest in the Buick community there is! I say, show them we appreciate thier coverage......... They want more viewers!

I agree with Mike, let's thank them for actually coming out and covering the event.

Yes they made some mistakes......nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes too.

Let's enjoy the coverage & hope they will come to other events.

    Beth

I agree. Let's start an email campaign to thank Spike TV and Horsepower TV for covering our event.

The "Grand Nationals" thing is an honest oversight. I see signs like that on businesses in Bowling Green every year. No big deal...it's the thought that counts!

Make sure you thank HP for coming and tell them next year will be even better so they should do a full 1/2 hour show showing all the big bad Buicks.

I understand that they are doing another feature this weekend on the GNs. Yes, I agree -- let's bombard them with thanks. It's called "Going fast with Class"! And, dang it, I am heading out of town on vacation tomorrow and where I am going there is no cable. But, I'll see it here or somewhere else when I get back.

I gotta join the "leave it be" crowd. Getting them to come and work the event is enough for the greater percenage I would have to think. But maybe not. I for one am MORE than happy they came and gave the coverage they did. A big THANKS to them for that. Like the old guys say, "some people will complain(B!t@h) if they were hung with a new rope". Let it go an hopefully they will make a return trip and make the needed corrections the second time around.

I wonder if the Grand Nationals is the right name. Maybe Joe knew something about the sale of the event before we did and used its new name. An event for just the black guys.

But politely correcting them is fine if you ask me. If someone says my name wrong I will correct them. But you should be nice and respectful about it. And mix it in with tons of praise.

I can't believe some of you guys are actually complaining about this. So what if they made a few mistakes. 5 minutes of airtime seems pretty good to me.

Don't even bother with those guys on HP TV. Myself and some other friends and accuintances tried contacting them several times and they just blew us off. They came to our local track with I believe it was project super nova and ran some tests. This was during the week. They said they would be back for the races on the weekend and never showed nor would they even give us the time of day. These guys get more wrong than they do right. Only morons could spend around what I believe was nearly $2000 on an F-body to get 35 horse when they could have got the same results for around $50 if not less.

I do experience the same thing in a TV show here (Quebec) It's a show who present every weeks two cars ... a "Muscle car" and a "Classic" .

The "Muscle car" of the week was a 72 Skylark convert with a 350-2 V8 . The host said that the Skylark became a 4 cyl. car named SKYHAWK in 1973  and some others things like that !

Mixed emotion too for me , some of the crew team are member of our board (french) and did not like what was said about their showm , like it's very intersting with the sound off !!! but everyone agree that can only be better next season ... as they would do more research before going on air ...
