Had some fun with Ray's GSX the other night in Photoshop. Original Saturn Yellow Rootbeer Float Power Lime Really Purple Electric Red Calm Green Fluoro Blue Juiced Orange Edit: Gave them names.
Thanks Adam. Unfortunately it only works well with cars that already have a strong color. My white Electra didn't change much at all. Still trying to work out how to change a white car.
Gotta admit that Saturn Yellow is not my favorite color. If it wasn't on a car as handsome as a GSX, I wouldn't care for it at all. The in-violet type color is really cool, though, I think Buick missed the boat with that one. Some of those colors are really good looking. on a side note, Ray's GSX must be pretty dern straight to look that good in so many different colors. Great catch, Ray!:TU:
Looks real cool Bill, my car in 7 different colors! I could show ya how to change colors of a white car like yours in Photoshop. Just select the area you want to change with the outline tool and then go into the color curves and drag the different color levels up and down (CMYK) and you can make it any color ya want. Send a pic over to me and ill do it for ya if you cant figure it out. And Chris...whats the deal with not liking Saturn Yellow! An Awesome color..especially on a GSX.... Shame on you! Thanks Ray, I'll try your method for changing white cars. I like the Saturn Yellow too. It reminds me of my old GTS. It was a 1974 GMH (General Motors Holden) HQ (model designation) GTS. It was powered by a 308 cubic inch (locally designed) V8. I was 19. What's interesting is how our Local GM division took cues from the American designers and used an almost identical colour and colour scheme.
I want one of those purple GSX's NOW! Bill. you may have convinced me on how to paint the race car. My original plans were white with GSX ghost stripes, but that idea has already been taken! So the purple with GSX wear is very interesting. Thanks for playing with Photoshop! RV
While you are playing with colors i would like to know what my 68 gs ragtop would look like with the original colors. It was charcoal(silver) with a white top when new but now it has a black top.Would like to see it in case i put a new top on.Could you find a picture of one and do the color thing? thanks ED
Mmmm not sure if I have enough skill yet to accomplish silver. So far I can only do solid colors but if you can furnish me with a picture I'll try my best. Send to bill@buickstreet.com
i have no way to send a picture but i thought you could use one from the ragtop section on this board. I am not good with computers and dont know if that is even possible for you to do.Hope it works but if not thanks for trying. ED
Roberta, Who has the GSX "ghost stripe" paint job? I have been considering that paint scheme for awhile. I guess I may have to get a new idea. Matt
