Pics are now up if anyone is interested...sorry they are not great, but I wanted to snap at least a couple of it in case anyone is interested. See the original posting, I couldn't post them on this thread too. Thanks, Mike
Thanks for the compliments, must not be too desirable though, no one has even made an offer... a numbers-matching 1970 Stage 1 in nice shape, it's even probably the BEST color combo you could get, oh well, I guess I'll just use it for a winter driver this season.
sorry to say it, but it's outta my price range! otherwise...... :TU: I agree with the color combo though. As it so happens, one of my good friends (and mechanic) just bought himself a 100% original Silver Mist '70 GSX.
I am completely negotiable on the price...I just want someone to make me a reasonable offer. If my posting this doesn't garner any attention, then I guess nobody on this board is looking for a Stage 1 and I will give up.
Did you see how much JKC's GSX went for? There is a readjustment in the market at the moment I have history with you, plus I saw the car at Columbus (BPG) $10 K I am willing to talk. You know I have the money. (Or I could buy another 73 4- speed !) ( The 4 speed from Mike, I will spend 10K for it too [It will take another 10K at least to get that one done?)[/I]):3gears: :Brow:
Phil, I already practically donated one car to the Phil Roitman Foundation already...geez. Let's see, I spent $2500 on the ON rear end alone, and $1200 on wheels and tires, so that means $6300 for a complete and very nice (albeit with a Chevy 12-bolt Posi in it, which I am sure you could recoup some money out of) numbers-matching 1970 Stage 1...hmmmmm...naaah, I'll pass. Phil, you do know that, regardless of the market's "softness" right now, it is 2007...not 1987, right? Love, Mike
But the correct carburetor is a 3-4k hit now. I have to agree on the market softening a bit though, but the parts prices are still going high...
I find it ironic that a complete car is worth less than sum of it's parts. Guys will pay 4 K for a 246 carb but here is a nice GS Stage 1and sees little interest?
Mike, If you have that much room in your price to move, why not lower the price closer to what you would like to get? You won't have a chance to make a 'big hit" on the car, but you might have a chance to sell it if you price it more reasonable. If a car isn't selling, it is usually because of condition or price. If you aren't or can't do anything to change the condition, that leaves the price as the adjusting factor. Some people aren't comfortable making an offer of $10k - $20k less than someone is asking.
If I recall from the previous owner he was asking $20K when I spoke with him. The pistons in the car are changed to low compresion and the rear is an ON that was purchased not the rear that came with the car. It appears that you have done a few minor things to the car so where is the addition money coming from? If you need to sell it make a couple bucks and dump it. If it is worth that much in your mind than you have something worth holding on to. But for most of the investers there is some issues that will effect the price your asking.I wish you the best of luck, chris
First of all, why would you put the original purchase price on this thread???? To hurt the seller? Has the seller done something to you to upset you? second question.....what does it matter if he purchased the rearend or not as long as its correct? The "ON" rearend is dang near impossible too find...(believe me, I know). Why should that effect the price or the cars value? Im just curious, so please explain.
All, I have known Mike (4speed73Stage1) for over 20 years. He is one of the nicest people you could meet AND HONEST! Kudos to stageone and singlestage...I applaud your response. Good luck Mike!
