I took advantage of TA Performance's Q-jet Redo. I'm thrilled with the results. my only complaint is TA didn't give me a spec sheet, I'll have to call and see whats inside of it. Carb is an 800 CFM off a 76 225. After: :eek2: :eek2:
If you don't mind my asking, how much did TA charge for the rebuild? That would look sweet on top of a TA Stage One intake!!
its $395 plus shipping. The color is actually much more gold, the picture makes it silvery. I paid a bit extra since the carb was so messed up. I also had them install an electric choke to. I'm thrilled with the results myself. :bglasses:
Can you post pictures of how all the hoses for the vacuum is set up. My hoses, to my knowledge, actually close the secondaries at higher rpms... carb is off a 72 350, and the previous owner i think tried to rebuild it himself. Thanks
No it really is the same carb. If you look at the top plate, on both pictures the accelerater pump housing is cracked off, all the vacuum ports are the same. The choke is different because I had them install an electric unit instead instead of the 76 choke setup since I'm running an S-diveder intake with the crossover blocked. it really is the same carb.
Why would Joe lie about his freakin carb? uzzled: Looks great Joe. It ain't cheap though is it?
Recognize the choke asm... Rochestor used the integral choke set-up on Pontiac application '75+ M4MC style Q-jets. All had APT, & most were factory 800cfm. Have no doubt the choke asm will adapt onto a Buick carb, have done so In '80, Rochestor went to the electric choke on many non Chevy Q-jets, thus the M4ME designation. :3gears: Roger
