i think im missing a bracket from my factory a/c. I have the cradle that bolts to the engine, the top bracket that mounts to the intake manifold. Is there a bracket that goes from the cradle to the compressor on the back side? it seems to me that something is missing in this area as i cant get the compressor to mount up

Mark I just looked over all the pictures I have of motors I have, and for some reason it looks like I always take pictures of the other side away from the AC. If run across one I will post the pics.
OK!!!! The big question have you started the car up yet. If you did how does it sound? Give us an update.

dont know if this is close to the one on the big block, this is the A/C compressor and alternator mount off of a 350. a large cast aluminum part. the adjustment point for the A/C drive belt is a flat metal bracket attached to the alternator.

thanks rob - i have already got that bracket what i need is the front and rear brackets that go from the compressor to the lower bracket , the back one also connects to the top bracket. anyone want to take some measurements of the distance between the holes so i can make the brackets :Brow:

i found the brackets on page 13-48 of the 1971 service manual , i will post pictures of the page later when i get some batteries for the camera!

There are separate adaptor plates for both front & rear of the compressor.
Left is the rear, right is front. These are for my '71, manual shows '69 the same.
