I started work on my Regal in late January and it is still waiting for the roll cage and fiberglass hood to be installed, but I have been busy doing other things. I have driven it about 3 to 4 miles or so. I wanted to make it to Norwalk for its maiden run but other things have held me back. This car was just a V6 car nothing special, but now has a stage 3 464, TH 400 with brake, custom aluminum driveshaft, 9" ford with 390 spool, HR parts upper, lowers, and sway bar, air bags, 15 gallon fuel cell, etc........ The list doesnt end. LOL.

    Finish Date

This weekend I am going to fab the Zues clip mounts for the hood and possibly get the hood mounted, but i doubt i will get that far. As far as the roll cage goes im thinking I could have it done for the GS Nationals!!!!! I also have to get exhaust on it sometime because the cops have been called once and its way 2 radical with open headers on the street. I did drive it too a local car show last friday and when i got it parked there was a crowd around me. Then everyone waited around till i fired it up and left. A local guy that has a mustang on steroids was asking if i would race him. I guess that car runs in the 9's on gas. Im hoping I can get into the nines and still drive it on the street. As for racing the mustang I sure will but only after I get this thing set up right.

That car will make a great sleeper for when you take it on to the streets. I would love to see a ricers face when you peel off from him at a stop light

Peel off? More like suffocate in a shroud of molten smoldering rubber. I would pay to see that. :beer

I think with the proper tuning and with the setup you got would give the mustang a good run for the money, nines shouldn't be a big problem from the looks of it. Good luck and keep us all updated on it.

    Peel Tire LOL

Yeah it will smoke the tires in fact it did when I shifted in second gear at 45 miles an hour and it started to go sideways. I had like 18#s of air in the MT ET streets, which was way too much.

    Tom,

Looks very good. :eek2: From the looks of it, you had a nice car to begin with. You must have put some hours in the garage to be that far since January. You say you plan on running it on the street... what gear you put in the 9". From the looks of it, you got the cooling squared away. I run a 3.90 in mine with the stock gearing in a 400, a 3500 stall converter, and it's around 3 grand at 60. It is hard to keep it below 210 on the highway but I do only have a standard brass 4 core and elec fan thats not as nice as yours. Keep us up to date on the numbers.

    Double Time

Yeah I spent anywhere from 50 to 70 hours a week on the car. I was able to do this because I Took a semester off of school and was not employed. I tore the whole car down except for the front end, and had the body off the frame for new bushings and painting in those hard to reach area's. I put in a flamming river manual steering box, which saved 45 #s over the power unit. The car has a wilwood master cylinder, new brake lines, hurst roll control, and discs all the way around.

people are calling me MR. Buick

Im getting teased at work for building Buicks. These people have never seen my cars before. Anyway they new i had my 65 prostreet (which isnt finished), but didnt know about the Regal. I dont go to work and brag or even talk about my cars because they always say buicks are boat anchors anyway. So on Friday I cruised the Regal down to pick up my check because i just got the exhaust on the night prior. I saw a guy i used to work with and gave him a ride which was awsome. The front lifted and it laid tracks for about 60' until i shut it down. I guess they wont tease me anymore because he said he had enough and that I was crazy. When he got out of the car I could see him shaking. I have not even tried the transbrake yet, that was rolling at about 15 MPH.

    Toms Tranny

Earick racing did the convertor, which is top notch and made especialy for my car. The tranny was done locally at Fountain Transmission in Iowa City, Iowa, and they have a great reputation for being the best around. As far as the stall you'll have to ask Brian Earick. I never did get the spec sheet, but im sure if I called or emailed him he would send it to me.
