I'm looking for replacement pillar posts for a 1968 buick skylark custom. At least that's what i think they're called.. :Do No: if you're sitting in the car with the door open it' the padding/trim that covers the metal frame in between the door and the windshield.

what year/model cars use this same part?

    thanks!

Windshield pillar trim pad, is what I usually call it. 68 and 69 GS/Skylark/Special should be the same in fit, I believe, but only the 68 is a soft pad, with vinyl cover. I think 69 are metal only. What color do you need? Not sure, but I may have a spare set I would part with. They can be painted to match your interior.

If David doesn't have any I have an extra set. There green and in perfect shape. Pulled from a 68. Also they are padded. David I have a 69 Stage 1 and it came with black padded pillers. I got the car used maybe someone added them.

Been my experience, all 68 and 69 models had soft A-pillar post covers.
1970 was the first year for the painted metal versions.

I believe you can buy the 68-9 versions new from many A-body vendors.

Ron, I did a quick search tonight, and didn't come up with anything I want to sell.

George, you may be right about 70 being the first year for metal covers, for some reason though, 69 is stuck in my head... I do not believe I've seen these listed for sale from any of the usual vendors. I'll have to check a couple tonight in case they've been added recently. Maybe the same place I got my 16" repro armrest pads.

Dave, I have seen some metal ones in the 69's. Years ago when you could find a 68 or 69 in the salvage yards I remember seeing them and didn't really want them because I liked mine.
