Anybody see it when it first aired on speed channel? Is it any good? Im going to watch it tonight....
I didn't like it I honestly didn't like it that much, I don't know why I didn't like it. Maybe because they moan and groan too much about certain things (engine size, nitrous, etc.) But then it again, it isn't really that fair when somebody has a bigger engine. Oh, I also didn't like it because it didn't really give you a background about the cars, people, and work that went into making the cars. So that show wouldn't be my top pick.
I kinda liked it myself. You are right about the background on the cars/people/work that went into them, and I don't care too much about negotiating, but I guess since the race wasn't fair by a long shot, there had to be somewhat of a negotiation. The SBC 350 beat the 455 BBP even in the second race when the GTO had 3 car lengths :eek2: I think there was something wrong with the GTO though. All in all, I like the show.
Yes, i totally agree. And when all was done, the guy asked the driver of the Ford if he thought it was a fair race....and he said he thought it was, I don't know, even if you have an experienced person that has gone down the track a few times in their life, that doesn't help whatsoever if your car has something broken.
is this the show that in a commercial advertising it they show what appears to be a 70 chevelle and 69ish shelby mustang racing? i didn't see the show but i know i saw an advertisement for something like this. mabe it was something else? but if anyone has seen this commercial did anyone else realize they show the front of a 70 chevelle and the backend of a 71-71? it just jumped out at me right away as they were trying to portray it as the same car. sorry if im rambling about something else, its late lol

I've see a couple of ephisodes and wasn't really impressed. The commercial I saw advertising it led me to believe it would be a bit different. Too many commercials and I don't like the negotiating. I'm definately not an advocate of street racing but the commercial looked a lot more appealing. Thought the Ford guys would be a lot more out spoken about that commercial. What's up Ford guys? John.
Honestly, I thought it was stupid. I mean you get this jesse james hero wannabe running negotiations between two guys who you know nothing about and they race their cars of which you know nothing about and thats about it. Could have used that 30 minutes for something useful. I would have liked to seen the build up on the cars, maybe some inside tips on what the guys did to help cheat (you know they do) or get the edge, who they are, drag racing strageties, how they got there and what shop they have, etc...I mean something interesting.... I liked it the only downside for me it has too many commericals. When the winner gets the car, all I ever see is that he just gets the keys never a title and or a pink slip? Too much talking going also. I didnt see the whole episdoe last night, but I knew that hotrod ford would win.
This show is pathetic! The cars looks soooooooo slow. The guys with the 25 second Pontiac race car said they had a broken axle! And then he raced it again??? That slowed it down from a 25 second car to a 60 second car. This is without a doubt the stupidist show ever. The premise of the show is good...but the cars they pick could actually legally race on the street... because they can't go faster than the speed limit!
If the pontiac had a so called "broken axle" then the 350 was definetly going to beat it. To me, it looked like these poncho guys couldn't handle all that BB torque and HP, heck, they were even scared to do a good burnout! The guy with the 350 chevy was scared to race against that 455 BBP for some reason or another................................................. o No:
