Im looking for some piston rods capable of holding 700-ish HP for a 1969 430, if you have some and want to sell, let me know Also, still looking for some 430 forged pistons
I have a set of Pont SD rods that can be used on these requires minor clearencing on crank pin width and slight length difference . I have yet to mock these into an engine so I will have to just go by what has been done in the past . This was a old trick done by many Buick racers in the past . They have been checked by the machine shop and are good .
rods I have a great set of HOWARDS aluminum rods that have arp bolts with very limited pass's on them. going to put on ebay let me know if you want any pics.$300 shipped.
I would have to check but its a common swap , they have the same big end and I think ( must have expert info here ) They are .030 longer which on most blocks gets you to 0 deck height . If you are realkly interested I will have a std set and these measured at a machine shop . I am going a different route . All the info I got says this is a good rod for a Buick the diference in thickness is amazing .
ill get back to you on that. need to check whether i can take the compression raise, and possible valve issues.
ill keep my eye out for it, but havent got it yet. not sure how long they usually take, but you might try resending? o No: thanks
found them after some searching, stockers dont fin my needs unfortunately. thanks for looking though, its appreciated. -Steven
Grimm Hi,if you are interested,I have a set chevy pink rods. They require cutting the crank to fit. They were in my race car,I went to a 482 stroker and I had to use aluminum. They are attached to a set of JE pistons[38 over].But they are easily removed.BrunoD.
