72 degrees abdc with the intake lobe centered on 109 (4 degrees advanced). 76 degrees abdc with the cam straight up (113 degree intake centerline). ________ Yamaha sy85 history
thank you all for the information Very helpful you all are. I've been playing with the dcr program from silvolite's website (kb-silvolite.com/calc.php) and came up with my answer for cam selection. Because I run 11.26 to 1 static on pump gas, cam selection becomes very important. 11.26 to 1 with a 413 cam (76* intake closing ABDC straight up) turns into 8.103 dynamic. That's perfect for full timing and no ping. I was thinking I would have to run a big duration Schneider cam (260/268/520/528/110) with an intake closing point at 73* abdc. But, this cam's dcr is 8.340 (too high). I learned something here. The bigger the LDA, the lesser the ping factor. The 413 (113LDA) is a small cam next to the Schneider (110LDA). But, the dcr calculator tells me I can use it because of it's wider LDA. Thanks guys.
