Okay, first off, what a mess this was, so many stupid idots involved its hard to count them all....the NBA has fined and suspended the players involved but what I want to know is what about the fans involved, I haven't heard a word about whats being done to them......the first guy that threw the cup in the first place (he's the one that had the player around the waist then once things seemed like it was gonna settle down he starts sucker punching the player he has around the waist in the side of the head, then it goes all to hell)....I know the players have to keep their cool but so do the fans.....I think something should be done to them also. My 2 cents

I Agree. I think he should be charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery.

I personally have had it with these professional athletes and their "I can do whatever I want to and get away with it" attitude.

It was wrong for the one fan who started all this by throwing a water bottle and hitting the one player in the chest. But everyone knew who is was and he could have easily been arrested and charged with battery, disorderly conduct, etc.

I personally believe that several of those players should be banned from the NBA. Let them go over to Europe and play if that's the way they want to behave. That is supposed to be a family event, not a WWF match.

What's worse is probably every scheister lawyer has those fan's names and numbers and if offering to represent them and get them all millions for being assaulted by the players. They should be banned from ever attending a sporting event again!!

It's just a deplorable situation all around.

That is exactly why I dont watch. I've got better things to do with my time then to watch a bunch of over paid thugs play ball

I agree.........further proof of how the decency of our society has gone down the crapper........animals, just plain and simple, animals. Reminds me of that saying......"instant a**hole, just add beer" :bglasses:

"Beer" Thats one of the problems also......thats it, lets get them drunk, that helps. Theres a fine line between players entering the stands and fans entering the field of play. Trust me when I say I'm not taking sides with the players but as a coach myself I know there are some "fans" that are idots and when they act like morons they should be punished also. And it is sad to say but 70 gsconvt is dead on, they'll sue and come out on top. Total BS!

The fans should be handled by security (and the court system), not the players.

I hope the players lose their shirt (literally) over this one - make an example...

A couple weeks ago, the Pacer's Ron Artest asked his coach if he could take some time off to promote the upcoming release of his new Rap disk...

Now he's got all the time in the world to promote whatever he wants...

That whole thing was an embarrassing display, by the way....

The police said the fan who dropped the beer on Ron Artest didnt show up for court. They said they wanted to ask him some questions, and possible charge him with something. Stupid fan in the first place. :Dou: If he hadn't of done that, nothing would have gone any further. It would've just reamined a foul.

If everyone would treat eachother with just a touch of respect this kind of thing wouldn't happen. If someone threw a beer at me, I'd go after him. I don't care how much money I make or how professional I'm supposed to be. And if my buddy is in the middle of it and needs a hand, I'm gonna be throwing haymakers to help him out. I'm tired of the media and everyone being so upset by this. The adrenalin was pumpin' after the Walace pushed him then someone crossed the line and was going to pay. I can relate to that. I'm surprised others can't

That was a disgrace to Detroit and all of their fans. The bottom line is simple. Artest is far from a fan favorite and if it was another player laying on the scorers table this never happens.

You for real? So the "fans" of Detroit decide...we don't like this guy, lets threw beer on him and start a riot....sounds to me like some of the Detroit fans are a disgrace to sports. :af:

the pacers went "ghetto"? this could have been stopped quickly if the referees had tossed artest immediately after he flagrantly fouled ben wallace and then kept them separated.
by the way, the lawyers are coming out of the woodwork.
like phil, i too am sick & tired of these so called "professionals" . they seem to be nothing but overpaid thugs !

The guy that Artest attacked, was actually an innocent bystander. The man who threw the beer was two rows back. The man standing behind him called a radio show I was listening to and told what really happened.Besides,if you look at the footage again, the man Artest attacked had both hands full,so it is obvious that he didn't throw the beer, unless he had a third arm.He deserves every dime he is going to win in court.

There is no reason a 6'6" man should be going after anyone in the stands, especially after a man who was a foot shorter and totally innocent. The NBA has allowed ignorance and selfishness to pour into their league.

The NBA has been dead to me since the 80's and this definitely does not change my mind.

    Kase,
You're a better man than me. If everyone one was as level headed we'd be living in a better world.
    Peace

I used to be an avid NBA fan until the late 1980's.Thats when the street thugs started taking the game over. Now its "basketbrawl" instead of basketball.I havent watched a game in years and have no plans to do so in the future.

Seems like I read somewhere that nearly 40% of all current NBA players have been charged with a felony. This shows you how far down the NBA has fallen.

My man Jerry West would have never acted these thugs. There was a class player if there ever was one.
