does anyone make the PLAIN skylark interior in black. a few years ago, the only interior people made seat covers for was the GS and custom interiors. I have the "taxi cab" interior and just want to keep the stock look (see not GS clone) rather than just slam in the GS style interior.

    any help? thanks!!

Legendary should make them. If not PUI may have it.

Parted a base level blue '71 Skylark earlier this year. It had the standard fabric & vinyl bench seat interior. Very similiar to the blue parody cloth bench seat interior in my '71 Pontiac GT-37. Have not seen it avail aftermarket.

If your Skylark bench interior is similiar... spartan black fabric material & vinyl bolstered bench seat, best bet is to ck big metro upholstery supplier. Get the fabric trim & vinyl trim numbers out of their trim books, then the search is on for nos fabric, & you will have to have seats stitched up. Look at the front bench really well, if there is a flawless rear lower vinyl piece, probably smart to salvage it. On the Skylark bench I pulled the, lower vinyl on back of rear seat was finely ribbed, not easy to buy new. Unfortunately, the nos materials route is not cheap, & even worse, it seems, many quality upholstery guys have a really hard time with fabric & vinyl combinations, at least keeping a straight line on the leading edge of the bench. Wish you good luck. Looking forward to Duane's answer.

my interior is all vinyl with no fabric. however it is not the GS interior. also i do not remeber the interior code listed on the body tag (in the engine compartment fastened to the cowl) but i think that it was a 1971 code listing for a black interior not the 1972 listing for a black interior. it also seemed to have some other confusing coeds. i will get them tonight and maybe some one can help.

also what company is PUI? thanks

Only two companies that I know at this time that make Skylark interiors. Once is Legenday and the other is PUI (Parts Unlimited International) based in Knoxville TN.

Base Skylark and Skylark Custom interiors are both offered. These are the vinyl interiors. Some Skylark and Custom models came with a semi-satin/cloth material, I think it is called Brocade, that no one makes. Because so few cloth interiors were made don't expect to see them as repros from Legendary or PUI.

    well....

i have checked my various catalogs and legendary interiors does make my seat covers but does not make the door panels. neither does anyone else. i was once told that this was the cheap skylark interior option in 1972, but it is listed in the lgendary interiors catalog as a skylark/GS interior.

also the TR number in the body tag reads TR 108
    01B A52.

any help with this TR number would help.

    thanks

    darrenkp Love that Torque!

Ledgendary does in fact make the base interior, as least for the '71. I know the seats are the same as the '72, but I'm not sure about the door panels. If you could post a pic of yours I can tell you if they are the same, and therefore available from Legendary. :TU:

BTW, it was the base interior in the Skylark and GS those years.
