Plain Brown Wrapper @ the Racetrack

    I was able to go to Elk Creek Dragway with my car today. The first time at a track with the brown car since I got it back on the road. The first time in four years I've been down a track (usually my GN).

    I was by myself, so I didn't get any action pictures. I hope the track photo guy did.

    The very first pass would have been an eighth mile smokey burn-out, except I had to let up when I hit a slick spot at about 3/4 track and the guard rail was becoming visible in the windshield. Needless to say, 20 year old dry rotted Firestones weren't the best tire for racing.

    But, the car drove to the track, had some fun making passes, then drove back home without a hitch. About 1 1/2 hour drive each way.

    I guess it was OK for a po' boy, home-built hillbilly hauler! :3gears:
