Hey guys, I heard somewhere that the Plastic Chevelle fenderwells don't fit the '70-'72 Skylarks. Will the Cutlass plastic fenderwells fit at all? Later KFD
Yes. I've got them on my car. They aren't perfect, and need some trimming to work, but if you're not looking for them, you can't tell they're there.
I for one would love to see better pics of the inner fenders with some light . If these work a guy can get new repros from TPP and be good enough for a driver.
That is exactly what I was thinking. I don't anyone who doesn't have battery tray rust, mine is sitting on the core support with a bungee cord! KFD
Oh yes, more pics please!! I looked into doing this and couldnt find anybody that said it would work. If it could be made to look clean (not all hacked up/cobbled together) Id seriously consider giving it a whirl!
Cool info Clark....there are a lot of the Olds black plastic wells out there and while many aren't in great shape you can usually find a decent used set with some effort. The Parts Place wells are decent repros...usually takes some "adjusting" as they don't seem to fit in the Cutlass/442s as well as the originals. I believe TPP currently leaves some of the mounting holes undrilled so you can fit them first to determine hole location. Also---the used wells can be painted if you want to save some decent $$ and still have a nice black look under there.
I asked too & got the big NO!!uzzled: Oh well,my ,72 is gone now but still it would be nice to know how they fit for the future.
