I am in need of 1 can of Plastikote Universal Red 209 engine paint. I have a Buick engine that is going back together, is painted that color, and needs some touching up. It seems to be obsolete nowadays and I dont think Plastikote makes engine paint anymore. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Ronnie

I know it’s a crap shoot but probably best shot with it discontinued. I do not recommend this BUT “a person” could possibly shake the mess out of the can if it’s lost its charge purely to throughly mix the paint. Then jam something down into the dispensing port (after removing spray nozzle) to insure there is no pressure in the can & then cover the can with a tarp and puncture it in the can side down low or high and drain out the mixed paint into something clean obviously & then transfer that into one of those glass spray bottles with its own charger & spray away or dab into it for spot touches. A lot to go through but so is totally repainting an engine with a different brand paint and hoping it doesn’t react, ya know?
I appreciate the help. If it came down to it I would go through the trouble over shooting a different shade of red. We all know how these "universal reds" could really vary. I'd hate to put more than needed on something also because it is an insulator. I did end up getting a lead on a can an hour or two ago and jumped on it. Thanks
